With the season winding down, San Jose State and Boise State will battle it out to attempt to improve their positions in the conference ahead of the conference tournament in women's college volleyball. The Spartans are currently in second place in the standings while the Broncos are in seventh. San Jose is 18-7 overall with a conference record of 12-3. The team lost a close 3-2 battle to Utah State on Thursday night. Jiana Lawson and Letizia Cammillucci each had 14 kills on the night, but it wasn't enough to boost the Spartans to a win. Sarah Smevog had 18 digs, but that wasn't enough to hold off the Aggies.

The Broncos need to pick it up if they even want to make it to the tournament. The team is currently on a six-game losing streak, with the most recent loss coming Thursday night against Nevada. Boise State picked up the win in the first set, but Nevada rallied to win the next three. Despite 38 ties and 23 lead changes, the Broncos couldn't hold on to a win ultimately dropping the game at home. 

When San Jose and Boise State met earlier this season, the Spartans snagged a 3-1 victory.
